Top 4: Popular Types of Work Visa In Canada
3. Temporary Foreign Worker Program (TFWP)
This work visa program was created to allow Canadian firms to hire qualified foreign nationals for various jobs in the country.
Because there were no Canadian residents available to apply for the job vacancy, applying for an LMIA is an essential element of the TFWP application procedure. As a result, Canadian firms frequently use this program to hire foreign citizens.
An applicant must submit a copy of the LMIA and their work visa application to be considered for this program. You can apply for a work visa under the International Mobility Program if your future Canadian employer does not want an LMIA (IMP).
Some of the most common TFWP streams support the hiring needs of Canadian companies, which is why there is a list of standards that must be completed to put together a successful LMIA application for Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC).
Workers' earnings and skill level are defined by the National Occupation Classification, which determines the TFWP streams (NOC).
Among the several TFWP streams are:
- High Wage Worker Stream
- Low Wage Worker Stream
- Agriculture Worker Stream
- Seasonal Agricultural Worker Program (SAWP)
- Global Talent Stream (GTS)
- Home Care Provider Stream
- Foreign Academics
To be eligible for any of the TFWP streams described above, you must meet specific criteria, including having the following:
- Job offer letter that is valid
- Passport must be valid.
- Demonstrate that you meet the standards of your employment offer.
- Medical checkup and certification
- Certificate of clearance from the police
- test results as proof of English and French language ability
- A copy of the LMIA
- Evidence of funds
4. Post-Graduation Work Permit Program (PGWP)
If you wish to study in Canada, you can get permanent residency faster than most other work visa programs.
The PGWP enables international students to live and work in Canada after completing a Canadian Designated Learning Institution (DLI) qualification. You can get an open work permit in Canada as an international student under the PGWP. It will allow you to work for a Canadian employer part-time or full-time.
You can work as many hours as you choose under this study and work visa scheme. The permit is also valid for a period ranging from eight months to three years. Although this is a fantastic opportunity to live permanently in Canada, it is not suggested to gain professional experience.
If they apply through the Canadian Experience Class, international students who find work in any occupation designated as highly skilled or under the NOC 0, A, or B kinds will be entitled to claim Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points (CEC).
