What steps do I need to take to get an automatic scholarship upgrade?
Our Griffon Guarantee Scholarship has a unique feature: automatic upgrading. After completing the required course hours, you will receive a scholarship “upgrade”. The “upgrades” are calculated at the end of the summer term based on total earned credit hours. If you have 31 credits at the end of the summer term, you will be upgraded to the base scholarship for $1000. However, if you only have 28 total credits, you will have to wait another year for an upgrade, which will occur the following summer.
Upgrade 1: $1,000 and requires 30 credits. After enrollment into Missouri Western, you must have achieved 30 total credit hours by the end of the summer term.
Upgrade 2: $500 and requires 60 credits. After enrollment into Missouri Western, you must have achieved 60 total credit hours by the end of the summer term.
Upgrade 3: $500 and requires 90 credits. After enrollment into Missouri Western, you must have achieved 90 total credit hours by the end of the summer term.
When will the upgrades be completed?
The Griffon Guarantee Scholarship upgrade eligibility will be established each year at the end of the summer semester. (The only exception is if you begin your studies at Missouri Western during the summer semester.) In this scenario, you'll have to wait a year for the upgrade to take effect.) If you don't complete the credit hour threshold by then, you'll have to wait another year to be eligible for the scholarship upgrade.
Suppose you transfer credits back to Missouri Western after taking courses at another institution. The credits must be transferred to the University before the first day of the fall semester at Missouri Western to be considered for the GGS upgrade.
